Sunflower highway

· Farm life

If you've driven Princes Highway near Milton recently, you've probably noticed the sunflowers growing on Narrawilly's farm boundary.

Rob has been planting sunflowers there since 1992, and this year's crop has grown to almost two metres in height.

It's been wonderful to see people stopping to enjoy the spectacle and photograph themselves surrounded by these majestic sunflowers. Some of the photographs are being shared on Instagram, too.

On Wednesday, an anonymous note was left by someone who'd stopped to look at the sunflowers and for whom the association is deeply significant:

To the person who wrote this note: thank you. To quote Allen Ginsberg (US poet, 1926-1997; Sunflower Sutra 1955): we're golden sunflowers inside.
